Soft music will play in the background and usually your eyes will be closed. Kathy then will serve as the vessel that supplies healing energies where they are most needed. As your Reiki Master she will hold her hands either close to where the Reiki energy is needed by you, to help corrects any issues in that area A full Reiki treatment in my office setting usually lasts one hour. After the Reiki session It is always best to drink plenty of water to remove any toxins the body has released as part of its cleansing process.
Difference Between Reiki and Massage
While the benefits from Reiki and Massage are similar one cannot completely replace the other. Massage of course involves physical manipulation of muscles that increases blood flow to help eliminate pain and also de-stress an individual.
Reiki involves the energy systems of the body to help work on specific points that can not only help to ease physical pain and de-stress an individual but may make adjustments that are so powerful they can change ones emotional and spiritual health. The use of light touch or holding hands just above the body by the Reiki Practitioner helps to allow the restoration of balance and for the Reiki energy to generate healing heat through tapping into the flow of the life energy.
Though the Reiki Practitioner is the vessel that supplies the balancing/healing energies where needed it is truly the client that is the healer. Reiki can never do any harm and is always acting for the highest good. Though it is not a cure for injury, disease, or ailment and should not replace treatment from a licenced health care individual it is an excellent compliment to superior medical care.
